Etiologies that may stem from cognitive impairment may include Dementia, Brain Tumors, Stroke or Traumatic Brain Injury. Individuals who experience cognitive impairments demonstrate difficulty with effective social communication(e.g., initiating effective responses, interpreting combined verbal and nonverbal responses during conversations, and modifying responses when feedback indicates it has not been successful).
