⦁ Cognitive impairment is when an individual has difficulty remembering, concentrating, learning new things, or making decisions that affect everyday life. Cognitive impairment can range from mild to severe. Cognitive impairment can be a result of a primary neural injury or previous diagnosis (e.g., stroke, brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, cancer)

Those who perceive a voice disorder may demonstrate rough, breathy, strained, or strangled vocal quality. Additionally, vocal quality may be perceived as abnormal pitch, resonance, and/or loudness.
